Brunello Cucinelli

Design magician, cashmere god, elbow patch pioneer. Brunello Cucinelli could be my favourite designer of all time. Of course there may be someone out there at the Parsons' (or Ryerson's) coffee shop drawing up a line of incredible items that could surpass Cucinelli's genius of a label, but I doubt it. If you're ever in Italy take the time to visit Solomeo, a historic village that Cucinelli himself restored to turn into the home for his business. Also make sure to get some discounted cashmere from the man himself.

Crunches in bunches not so fun-ches??

For those of you that think a hundred crunches a day will give you this look (or close to it if you think this is too much), think again. Not only will you stop seeing results after a couple of weeks (plateau effect) but crunches may also cause severe problems for your spine. Check out this article from Maclean's to learn safe and effective exercises to build a strong a core.

Milk. Good, bad or disgusting?

Like most people, I was always told to drink milk. It's good for your bones. It's got tons of calcium, vitamins and pus. Wait a second! PUS? Yes, I do expect you to believe that. Now listen... Because of the demand for milk, today's engineered cow doesn't yield the normal 2 to 3 gallons that a pastured, organic grass fed cow does - it produces four times that. To get this increase in milk production, these state-of-the-art cows are fed high amounts of growth hormones. This cruel injection of hormones makes the cows prone to diseases thus leaving the milk in your grocery store full of pus (plus loads of antibiotics used to keep the cows from dying). If you want to learn more about this and how pasteurization makes the minerals and proteins from milk useless and indigestible, take a look at this article. http://www.realmilk.com/moreraw.html
